35 on Law School's Spring Honor Roll Thirty-five .students arc listed on the University Law School hon or roll for spring term, ltWIM. The law school's honor roll in cludes all students with a term average of TOO or higher, carry ing a full study program. It is based upon the grade point aver age covering work done in the school during spring term Arrangement of names within each class is according to rank order. Lyle C. Sritc, Pc Band Soloists To Perforin High school hand soloists from four western states will be fea tured at a concert at 8 p m Mon day in the School of Music audi torium. The students are participants in the hand division of the 10th annual High School Music Sum mer Session. They represent high schools in Oregon, Washington, California, and Idaho. Twelve soloists will t>e chosen to perform from 250 students at tending the band summer session. In addition to scholarships to attend next year's High School Music Summer Session, prizes for best performances will lie award ed by the Eugene Music Company ter L. The first-year class is headed by Laird C. Kirkpatrick. Other members of the class on the honor roll are Wilson C. Muhlheim, Wayne E. Allen, William L. Hall mark, John C. ASUO to Hold Hours On Third Floor SU ASUO President Henry Drum monds and Vice President Lee Bollinger will hold office hours from 10 a m to 3 p m, Monday through Thursday in their offices on the third floor of the Student Union. Bollinger said students are invited to come up and dis cuss problems which they feel student government might aid in solving. The new schedule will become effective with the start of summer term. Books borrowed before that date which become overdue after that date will be fined according to the old schedule of 5 cents per day. The new regulations require a fine of 25 cents per day—with a maximum fine of $10—for each overdue book, recording, or other library material other than re serve books. There is no change in the exist ing regulations for violation of the following rules governing re serve books: For overdue books 25 cents for the first hour and 25 cents for each succeeding hour, or portion thereof, which the Library is open (maximum $10.00) until the book is returned or reported lost (a charge of $1.00 per hour may be assessed in case of flagrant viola tion of the rules); For failure to return books to the proper department desk, 25 cents. Borrowers losing Library mate rials are charged the replacement cost of the material, the amount of fine incurred up to the time the material is reported missing (maximum $10), and a service charge of $3 00 for each title. Books needed for use in the Library are subject to recall from anyone at any time. A maximum fine of SI 00 a day may be im posed for failure to return promptly. Library to Honor Bernice Rise Miss Bernice Rise will be hon ored by the University Library Stall Association with a tea in the Student Union Browsing Room from 3 to 4:30 p.m. today. Miss Rise is retiring as Brow sing Room librarian During her years of service she developed many programs for bringing stu dents and books together. She encouraged students to build libraries of their own through the Student Private Li brary contest'; she established house libraries to encourage read ing in living organizations. In a series of weekly Browsing Room lectures Miss Rise and the Friends of the Library brought outstand ing visiting and local speakers to the room. Miss Rise’s future plans in clude travel and advisory serv ices to other libraries.
