AAUP Officer Speaks Friday Ross Koen, executive secretary of the Association of California State College Professors, will dis cuss “Collective Bargaining in Higher Education” at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the annual meeting of the University chapter of the Am erican Association of University Professors. Chapter officers will be elected for next year at the meeting. Koen, a political scientist, is currently studying the issue of collective bargaining in higher education. He is also surveying the members of the Association of California State College Pro fessors to determine their atti tudes toward collective bargain ing. Members of the University AAUP chapter who wish to at tend the meeting should notify Associate Professor of Journalism Galen Rarick, chapter secretary. Grads Must Apply To Stay Enrolled It is important that all graduate degree students in residence this vear understand the requirement for continuous enrollment. Other wise some of them may find that they have been dropped from de gree programs during periods when they are not on the cam pus because they have neglected to apply to the graduate school for on-leave status. If a student knows now that he wishes to be classified under "on leave” next year, he can obtain a card to apply for this status at the Graduate Center, room 11, Susan Campbell Hall. On-leave registration is not re quired for absence during the summer term. Professor Attends Drama Conference Horace W. Robinson of the University will attend a confer ence today through Tuesday in Minneapolis. The conference will consider proposals Robinson helped for mulate regarding the educational requirements of today’s profes sional actor. Robinson is a professor of speech and theatre and director of the University Theatre. Such noted figures in profes sional theatre as director Elia Ka zan, producer David Merrick, crit ic Stanley Kaufman, and Roger L. Stevens, chairman of the Na tional Council of the Arts, will be participants in the five-day con ference. All member* ere requested to attend. There will be a short meeting for old and new members of the SU Personnel Com mittee at 4 p.m. today in Room 308 SU. The Inter-Fraternity Council meeting scheduled for today will be held at 6:30 p.m. next Wednesday at Delta Upailon fraternity.
