But the entire plan is now in jeopardy because of the slowness of students to respond despite an intensive campaign of publicity to familiarize stu dents with the plan. Current indications suggest that less than ten per cent of the eligible students have completed their advising conferences as of Fri day, May 6, even though the program has been in operation for three full weeks. Obviously, neither this nor any other pro gram of advising can succeed without student support and par tieipation Unless students respond to the invitation to contact their ad visors immediately and unless they do so in very large num bers, we will probably see a repetition next fall on an even grander scale of the situation al>out which students complain ed so bitterly last fall during and immediately after registra tion week. The Board passed two motions concerning the activities hand book: • One motion approved the idea of the publication but left undecided the decision under what budget and from what source the funds would come. • The second motion states that the Publications Board thought the funds should come from sources and above the budg et requests previously made for publications. The activities handbook will include a listing of all student groups on campus, their officers, and the way to become involved in such activities.
