Panhellenic Decides On Rush Regulations By JKAN HNIDKIt Emerald Staff Writer The regular general meeting of Panhellenic was held ut the Alpha Omlcron PI house April 2H The following resolutions gain ing final adoption will he bind ing for one calendar year: • To rush as an upperclass man, a girl must lake from 30 to 30 term hours during the aca demic year. • A girl is eligible for re pledging a house if she ac quires that chapter's initiation grades in a regular University academic season and has an ac cumulative CPA of 2.0. She must also have the approval of the dean of women and tin1 exec utive secretary. • Sororities will have a formal ized spring rush next year. • A definite sign-up period for open rusli will be set up fall term. • The sorority women's agree ment will be amended to agree with the University ruling of 1 o’clock closing hours on a week night before a legal holiday which is observed by the University. Doug Lieuallen reported on the proposed Creek service project. Early Advising Urged Phil Schoggen, Academic Ad vising director, urged that all students see their advisors with in the next two weeks under the Early Advising Project. He said this is not pre-registration hut an aid to students in reducing "the crush of fall term registration and so obtaining better advis ing.” He added that thoac students "who do not sec their advisers now may have to wait until Thursday of registration week" to do so.’ The question of sorority elos ing hours for sophomore and ju nior women for next year was re ferred to the president’s council They will present a recommen dation to the next regular meet ing. Fall Formal Kush for 19fifi will begin Sept. 15. The Kappa Kappa Gammas and the Pi Beta J’his announced that they will he clos ed for open rush this term. The University Women’s Award Banquet was April 29. All awards given to University women were presented at that time. Campus Liberals Meet, Elect Staff The new Campus Liberal Or ganization (CLO) met and elect ed officers Thursday: Cornelius Veldhuisen, secretary; Bruce Mil lcr, parliamentarian; John Sevy coordinator; and Laura Block treasurer. Veldhuisen informed the mem hers of the progress made on th< campaigns of Howard Morgan candidate for U.S. Senator, am Charles Porter, candidate for tht House of Representatives from Oregon’s fourth Congressional Dis trict, and reminded the group of the CLO leaflet distribution cam paign held Saturday in Spring field. He also asked for help in tht CLO campaign to retain Univcr sity participation in the Nations Student Association. It was also reported that th< organization will sponsor a can didate fair Friday, and all inter ested persons were invited to at tend. Other business included the rc view of the CLO Constitution which, after lengthy discussion was submitted to committee.
