HC fo Discuss Playboy Article Playboy Magazine's recent or tirle entitled "The Deadly Halls of Ivy" will he the object of dis cussion by members of the Uni veraity Honors College. The smull group discussions will take place in the homes of fucully members today and Friday evenings at 8 p.m. Copies of the article by Paul (■'oodinan are available to all Honors College students in the Honors College Center. There will be a sign up list for each faculty home as well as information on securing transportation. On Monday evening there will be a follow up discussion in the Honors College lounge on "What's Wrong with the Honors College?” led by several student critics. Spring Sing Takes Theme From Poem The 20th annual Spring Sing, a part of Mothers' Weekend, will have as its theme "The Road Not Taken," from a poem by Robert Frost. DUIIL Law to Be Conference Focus About 150 judges, district at torneys. sheriffs, and chiefs-of police will meet in Eugene today, Friday, and Saturday, to con sider Oregon’s controversial new implied consent law and other topics. Enforcement of the new law involving persons charged with driving under the influence of in toxicating liquor (DU1II,) will be the focus of the conference, as well as highways in Oregon and proposed traffic safety legislation. ('aria Sehnier Junior, Psychology *> * • SWINK-ish Thanks Emerald Editor: We would like to take this opportunity to thank one of your most gifted cartoonists, Ed Cameron, for giving SWINE a plug in the Monday issue of your peerless and pre-eminent publication. Apparently Mr. Cameron has not read a copy of any of our publications, or talked with any of our officers, or had any first hand contact whatever with us; but in spite of these handicaps, he did a very fine job, consid ering that he covered a subject we have not gotten around to mentioning yet. Perhaps, he did read, or talk or contact us; if so, that is all right, too, since he obviously is following one of the first max ims of SWINE, namely that all organizations, including our selves, arc to be regarded with skepticism. Thank goodness, he did not fall victim to the same error that effected certain members of the Petty Left, who thought that we intended to “Destroy the Protest Movement.” My God, where would SWINE be without the Protest Movement? Nor did he accuse us of be ing a fascist plot, or a Commu nist front. That is refreshing and gratifying. He missed the hall completely but at least he didn't knock a foul into the outfielder’s hands. Indeed, we have nothing to complain about. For one thing, he spelled our name correctly, which has lately been a source of grief and recrimination be tween the Emerald and certain of its patrons. SWINE has been getting quite a play lately on TV and in the newspapers, and ABCTV has inquired about film ing the SWINE Mayday Parade, but still we are grateful for the plug.
