LA BOUNTY ASBURY A candle was passed at Chi Omega on Feb. 14 to announce the pinning of Michele la Bounty to Brad Asbury. Miss La Bounty is a freshman in journalism from Salem. Asbury is a freshman in archi tecture from Yisilia, Calif., and a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. DENSMORE POPE Sharon Densmore, an Alpha Onticron Pi in speech therapy, an nounced her engagement to Dean Popp, a Phi Delta Theta in eco nomics at Willamette University, on Feb. 9. Both are seniors from Portland. A June 18 wedding is planned. KLANG LA1D1.AU Sue Klang, an off-campus student in English, was pinned to Skip I.aidlau. an Alpha Delta Gamma from the University of San Fran cisco. in November. Miss Klang is a sophomore. Laidlau is a junioi in history. PARKER TRIMM Kay Parker, an Alpha Omicron Pi from Palm Springs, Calif., announced her engagement to Carlton Trimm on Feb. 14. Miss Parker is a junior in physical education. Trimm is a sophomore in business from Pasadena. The wedding will take place on Aug. 27. PETERSON HARSCH The pinning of Nancy Peterson, a Delta Zeta. to Don Harsch, a Chi Psi. was announced on Feb. 7. Miss Peterson is a sophomore from Lake Oswego in art. Harsch is a sophomore in pre-dentistry from Milton-Freewater. KONSCHOT MERCER Carol Konschot passed a candle on March 29, her birthday, to announce her engagement to Graham Mercer, an off campus sopho more from Alturas. Calif, in liberal arts. Miss Konschot, who is a freshman residing in Willcox Hall from Medford who is majoring in psychology. No date has been set for the wedding. PAGE GARDINER A candle was passed on Apr. 13 at Willcox Hall to announce the pinning of Grace Page, a sophomore from Burlingame. Calif., to Richard Gardiner, a senior from El Carrito. Calif. Miss Page is majoring in political science. Gardiner is a member of Phi Kappa Sigma and is majoring in business. MEYERS MANNAN Phvllis Meyers, an Alpha Gamma Delta from Scappoose. announced her engagement to Phil Mannan. a Chi Phi from Portland, on Mar. 29. Miss Meyers is a senior in English. Mannan is a fifth-year student in business and construction. No date has been set for the wedding. THOGERSON ■ HENDRICKSON A candle lighting ceremony was held at Alpha Xi Delta on April 4, to announce the engagement of Diane Marie Thogerson to Daryl Tor Hendrickson. Miss Thogerson is a sophomore in history. Hendrickson is a member of the Coast Guard Reserve and is a sales representative. Both are from Portland. No date has been set for the wedding. SMITH MOON Marcia Smith announced her engagement to Bert Moon on April 2. Miss Smith is a junior in speech therapy from Beaverton. Moon is a senior in range management at OSU from Lakeview. Both are otf campus students. The wedding is planned for late summer. ANDERSON - SPICKER An announcement was made on April 4 of the pinning of Carole Anderson to Bob Spicker. Miss Anderson is a junior in sociology from San Diego, Calif. Spicker is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and is a junior in accounting from Eugene. LOVELY - YOUNGER The pinning of Nancy Lovely to Ralph Younger was announced at the Delta Chi Delta sorority at Pacific University on Feb. 12. Miss Lovely is a junior in political science from Portland. Younger, a Chi Phi, is a senior in business from Medford. MILLER LUCAS Marilyn Miller passed a candle at Alpha Chi Omega on April 11 to announce her pinning to James B. Lucas of Redlands. Miss Miller is a sophomore in French from Jefferson, Ore. Lucas, a Beta Theta Pi, is a junior in advertising. SANDERSON NELSON Carol Sanderson passed a candle on March 10 to announce her engagement to Carl Nelson. Miss Sanderson is a resident of Ann Judson House and is a freshman majoring in English from Salem. Nelson is an off-campus junior who is majoring in history and psychology from Eugene. Knapp. Miss Livingston, a member of Alpha Xi Delta, is a junior in fine arts from Hillsboro, Ore. Knapp is a senior in architecture from Klamath Falls. The wedding will take place in July, 1967. * GRACIE SEILER ★ Susanne Grade announced her engagement to Bob Seiler at an open house given by her parents in Oakland, Calif, on March 26. Wash., is announcing her engagement to Archie A Caraway, an automobile dealer from Yakima, Wash. Tentative plans are for a June wedding. NYK■STACEY Anne Clark Nye. a sophomore in English, announced her engage ment to Jonathan George Stacey, a senior in English, at her home in Berkeley, Calif., March 19. Tentative plans have been made for a September wedding at his home in Ashland. Today, however, most brides choose their own sil ver. The sterling is usually picked out a few months prior to the wedding At this time the pat tern is registered with the store along with the bride and groom's name and a record of pieces pur chased for them This makes it convenient for friends and rela tives to add to the set as they wish. The trends in sterling tend toward the heavy, traditional pat terns. Modern designs are popu lar hut girls generally admire the elegance of patterns similar to that of their mothers and grandmothers.
