Boycott, Panel Slated To Support Workers A nationwide boycott of Schen ley (fermented) grape products bus gained momentum in the Eu gene area this week. The University chapter of Stu dents for a Democratic Society is sponsoring a table on the Student Union terrace this week in sup port of the Farm Workers' Strike in Delano, t'alif. In addition, SDS will sponsor a panel discussion on the Delano situation at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Student Union. Included in the panel will bo Dan and I'aige Knapp of the VISTA training staff, and (Jreg Johnson and Uun nar Lundeherg, University stu dents who have visited the area. A Sympathy Pilgrimmage is scheduled for later in the week, which will coincide with the F a r m Workers' Pilgrimmage from Delano to Sacramento, Calif. The National Farm Workers’ Association, the farm workers or ganization, is asking for recogni tion as the workers' representa tive and for negotiations with the growers over wages and living conditions. There's More Future with Oregon Peace Corps Applicants To Be Given Reception A special reception and inform al discussion for University Peace Corps applicants will be held Wednesday in the Dad's room of i the SU. Applicants will have a chance j to meet and talk with several, Peace Corps Directors and volun jteers: Ross Pritchard, Director of the Corp’s Far Fast Region; Len ard Clarke, former Director in Sierra Leone; Kirby Jones, re turned volunteer from the Do minican Republic: Peter Morris sey from Indonesia; and Char lotte Crawford from Pakistan A new color film, “Our Man in ; Borneo" will be shown at 7 p.m., and, following the film, at 7:30, a panel discussion will he held. Cur rent issues and controversy relat ing to the Peace Corps will be topics: is the Peace Corps Volun teer an agent of American For eign Policy? What is community development accomplishing in Latin America? What is the job of a Peace Corps teacher in Af rica and in Asia? The session will be open, and questions and comments from ap plicants will be welcomed. Appli cants may meet the Peace Corps representatives informally after the discussion. They will also be available in the Peace Corps Committee Office in the SU on Thursday for per sonal interviews concerning over seas assignments, training pro grams, or other matters of con cern to applicants.
