Grant Finances Center In Mental Retardation The University received $100, 000 from the Vocational anil He habilitation Act to establish a regional rehabilitation, research, and training center in mental re tardatlon Friday, The center, one of four in the country, will do considerable work in the behavioral aspect of moderate, mild, and borderline cases, according to Herbert ,J prehm, associate professor of edu cation and director of the proj ect. Research in teaching methods as well as looking for better ways to measure and predict the social adjustment of a mentally re (aided child to adult society will be conducted by the center It will also sponsor short in StitUtes for professional person riel out in the field. These will be open to all persons in the rehabilitative fields psycholo gists, public health nurses, social workers, physicians, and school personnel. Scholar to Talk On Spanish Lit A ( ambridge Tniversity profes sor will speak at 8 pm today m the Student Union on litera ture of the Spanish baroque pe riod. Edward Meryon Wilson, a Fel low of the British Academy, will discuss Calderon and the" Kill - Joys in a lecture sponsored by the Tniversity department of ro mance languages. Wilson has won distinction for his studies of the 17th century Spanish dramatist Pedro Calder on de la Barca and of the poet Luis de Gongora. Currently a professor of Span ish at Emmanuel College of Cam bridge Tniversity, Wilson was Cervantes Professor of Spanish at the Tniversity of London for eight years, and Jane Eliza Proc ter Visiting Fellow at Princeton University in 1932-33 He was present in Spain dur ing the 1930's when events were occurring which reflected the upheavals of modern Spain. In 1930 he saw the fall of the dic tator Primo de Rivera and when the civil war broke out in July, 1936, Wilson was evacuated first from the city and later from Spain Swimmers...
