Mike Harpstcr, president of SDS, attended the Board meeting to make the request, lie said the show was both controversial and stimulating The Honors College has said they would put up part of the money to have the group come to Pi Beta Phi Elects New officers elected hy Pi Beta Phi are Nancy Greenfield, presi dent; Char Weber, vice president; Cheryl Smith, recording secre tary, and Sue Newbegin, corres ponding secretary Other officers elected were Car ol Sly, treasurer; Sally Williams, social chairman; Su/annc Carson and Shere Gulrey, scholarship chairman; Melinda Hand, house manager; and Cindy Spencer, pledge trainer. In other action, the Board ap proved a proposal to allow the use of a public address system at the Free Speech program It was decided that the TV room in the SU can no longer be scheduled for use of meetings of special groups, including the Armed Services, since the room is technically a public area. The Becreatlon Council has de cided not to have the water ski tournament this spring It is plan ned for early next fall In its final action, the Board voted to go ahead with plans to try to book a performance by Harry Belafonte at the University next fall term.
