'Why Viet Norn'
Film Here Today
The film. “Why Viet Nam,”
just released by the Department
of Defense, will be shown at 4
p.m. today in the World Affairs
Briefing Center in the Student
Union.
The film traces the history of
the Viet Nam situation from the
French withdrawal up to the
present time, and specifically the
development of the U.S. commit
ment there from economic aid. to
military advisors, to combat units.
President Johnson, Secretary of
State Rusk, and Secretary of De
sense McNamara explain the rea
sons for this growing commit
ment, our goals in Viet Nam, and
U.S. policy towards expanding the
war and negotiations.
Lamanski to Talk
At SDS Meeting
Ed Lamanski, general secretary
of the Progressive Labor Party
and organizer of the trip that
took students to Cuba a few
years ago will speak at the 7
p.m. meeting of the Students for
a Democratic Society today.
Lamanski will speak on the
