Stadium Campaign Gains Momentum EUGENE (At*)—A campaign to raise SI million in public \ contributions for the new Uni versity football stadium passed the two thirds mark Thursday. A total of $608,000 in money and signed pledges has been j collected, reported Lynn Me- i (ready, Eugene, general chair* Wan of the campaign. He said about $168,000 of the total has been collected since the first week in January. I he stadium, planned to have between 40,000 and 46,000 seats, will be built at a cost of about ,25 million in Eugene’s North bank Park. Kan of the First Kl B Church, aid they "would welcome fresh men." hut the arrangement will he in accordance with other Uni versity co-ops Freshmen students are allowed to live in co-ops if they testify that they can't meet the financial burden of the Uni versity housing. A constitution is bring worked on now It will he similar to those of other coops In the fall, stu dents will be allowed to make changes and recommendations, Morgan said lie said he would rather the students have a part in the formulation of the consti tution, hut a constitution must he drawn up now The students will be given the right to make some of their own rules in the fall Certain restrictions will be im posed on the residents of the co op No smoking, drinking, or card playing will be allowed The pel icy regarding card playing is like that of Ann Judson House, an other co-op The policy will elim inate the possibility of gambling, stated Morgan The name Aldersgate was cho sen for two reasons. One is re lated to the fact that the house is on Alder St The other is in regards to an incident which took place involving John Wesley. The Evangelical United Brethren Church has its roots, theological ly speaking, in the Wesleyan movement, said Morgan Wesley had a deep religious experience at a meeting on Aldersgate Street This is the second reason for the name of the new co-op Campus Briefs Anoouiucmcnii for C*mpu» Bind* mu»t be united in by 3:30 pm the day before publication.
