Utah's eight-game winning
streak was brought to a halt Sat
urday by Arizona's 10!) win in
Salt Lake City and the Oregon
varsity will travel to Utah with
the idea of continuing the Red
skin’s losing string.
And the Ducks, off a 17-15 vic

lory over Pittsburgh in the two
school's openers last Saturday,
will be fighting to keep their own
winning streak alive.
The game will be Utah’s third
of the 1905 campaign, as they
defeated Montana State, 28-13, j
Sept. 0.
Their eight-game winning string
included a 3241 victory over West
Virginia in the Liberty Howl last

Utah used both running and
passing offense equally in their
Montana win while they employed
a passing offense basically Satur
day against Arizona.
Utah began the 1965 season as
an inexperienced squad with only
two of the ’64 starting offensive
eleven returning. Coach Kay Na
gel also lost his entire starting
defensive backfield.
But the Redskin defense in re
ality gave up only one score in
Arizona’s 16-9 win as the Wild
cats scored one touchdown on an
intercepted pass and another two
points on a safety.

Utah, which gained co-cham
pionship status in the Western
Athletic Conference 1964 foot
ball race, along with Arizona
and New Mexico, averages 202
pounds on the offensive team.
The line weighs in at 214 pounds
and the backfield 181.
The Redskin offensive interior
line is bolstered by 230-pound
junior right tackle John Stipech.
Senior Greg Kent, left tackle,
weighs in at 225 pounds Bruce
Bean, a 220-pound junior, and
Ketil Moksnes, 202 pounds and
a senior, claim the guard spots
while 211-pound junior Pat Mc
kissick holds down the center
position.
According to Nagel, standouts
after the two Utah games have
been defensive end Bill Morley,
McKissick, Moksnes, defensive
halfback Jerry Pullman and
power end Frank Mazzotta. Moks
nes, Pullman and Mazzotta all
work on both offense and defense.
Oregon has met the Redskins
nine times and has won seven
and lost two. The last Oregon win
came in 1962 in Eugene by a 35-8
tally. Utah’s last win, a 14-6 vic
tory was scored in 1961. The
Ducks first met Utah in 1933, and
finished with a 26-7 win.
