Churches Plan Discussions Baptists “Theology and Revelation” is the topic of the service at First Baptist Church at 9:45 am. Sunday. A reception for foreign students will be held at 4 p.m. There will be no college hour this Sunday. Christian House The November potluck dinner for married students will be at the Christian House at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Each couple should bring a hot dish, salad or dessert. Fran ces Van Voorhis of the Home Economics Department, will speak on family problems facing young married couples. Officers will be elected at this meeting. Baby sit ters will be provided. University To Host Geography Council The University will host the Oregon Geography Council’s an nual meeting Saturday. Martin, associate professor of geography from the University and Clarke Brooke of Portland State College. Edward T. Price, Jr., head of the University department of ge ography, is coordinating local ar rangements for the meeting. Keeper Emeri tus of the Indian section of Vic toria and Albert Museum of South Kensington, London, will speak on “The Loves of Krishna” at 8 p.m. Monday in 150 Sci ence. Two exhibitions—“Persian and Indian Miniatures from the col lection of Edwin Binney, 3rd, Portland Art Museum” and “Con temporary Iranina Paintings”— are on display at the Museum of Art in connection with Archer’s visit. Arcner, veteran lecturer oi In dian art and culture, joined the India civil service in 1931, as su perintendent of Census Operations and in various legal capacities After retiring from government life. Archer joined the staff of the Victoria and Albert Museum in 1949. Since then he has vis ited India in 1954 lecturing on Indian painting and in 1960 on a research tour of the subcon tinent and Ceylon. In 1957, Archer wrote “Loves of Krishna in Indian Painting and Poetry” and in 1959, "In dia and Modern Art.” He was a Sir George Birdwood lecturer on Indian painting, sponsored by the Royal Society of Arts in 1957, and a Cooke Daniells lecturer at the Denver, Colo., Art Museum in 1958 SU Announces Bridge Tourney An open pairs Bridge Tourna ment, designed for the average University player, will be pre sented by the Student Union Games Committee at 7 p m. Tues day and Thursday in the SU. A bridge player does not need to be an expert to play in this tournament as it is limited to 1 University students, in that one of the pair must be a student.
