This Weekend See A Show—Or Study By LINDA BROWN Emerald Entertainment Editor It’s not too difficilt deciding what to do this weekend You can either study for finals or go to a show. Unless it’s tonight in which case you can see the Ducks play the Beavers in Mac Court in a basketball game starting at 8 p.m. Earlier in the day there is a Friday at Four loiter in the eve ning "Mi Roberts” with Jack Lemmon, Henry Fonda and Wil liam Powell can be seen on Chan nel 13. "Billy Budda film that has received the praises of Newsweek, Time and Saturday Review is headlining at the Fox this week end. Based on the novel by Her man Melville, this is a powerful story of good and evil and justice The movie stars Peter Ustinov (who wrote and directed the film), Robert Ryan. Melvyn Doug las and Terence Stamp (as Billy). The co-feature is ' Flat Top " The Heilig is featuring two re runs with oscar performances "Sweet Bird of Youth" and “Loli !a." Wednesday, the 13th (middle of finals), "Days of Wine and Ros es" will open at the McDonald Thin stars Jack Lemmon and Lee Itemick—both of whom have re ceived oscar nominations for their roles—as two alcoholics who have to decide whether to live with the bottle or themselves. The Mayflower is showing "Gen eral Della Rovere” with Vittorio De Sica. "Behind the Great Wall” is the second feature. In addition to these generally good films, the McKenzie is show ing Anthony Quinn in “Barabbas” with "Wild Westerner” as the co feature. The Eugene Drive-in Is featuring Walt Disney's “Bon Voyage” with Fred MacMurray and “Flaming Star” with Elvis Presley. And that’s about that. If you don't like movies you're out of luck this weekend. ROTC Instructor To Train Civilians in South Viet Nam Major Edward Zuver, assistant professor of military science at the University, will leave the cam pus on March 12 to join the Spe cial Forces mission in South Viet Nam. IN SOUTH Viet Nam Zuver will be involved in training the Viet namese ’ irregular” forces. He will teach the civilians to defend them selves and their villages from the Viet Cong guerillas from North Viet Nam. Before proceeding to Viet Nam, Zuver will take part in a three stage course of instruction de signed to prepare him for duty with the Military Advisory Assist ance Group now ooerMing in South Viet Nam. By late July Zuver will begin an eleven-week course of instruc tion in Vietnamese culture, his tory and language at the United States Army language school in Monterey, California. He will de part from there to Viet Nam, with arrival scheduled for late October. The primary elections will limit the number of candidates to 15 for the C senators-at-large and two for all other offices Write-in candi dates are acc ptable only in the primaries. Breen To Give Speech At Renaissance Meet “Projects of the Renaissance So ciety of America" will be the theme of a speech by Quirinus Breen, professor of history, at the Pacific Northwest Renaissance Conference. The conference will take place at Western Washington State Col lege at Bellingham, Washington, today and Saturday. It meets an nually to discuss Renaissance sub ject matters.
