ed in this concert.
Members of the University
community are urged to partici
pate in the activities. Classes
which begin at 10 and 11 a m.
on Tuesday will not be held so
that students may attend the con
vocation. University offices, the
SU, gymnasium, swimming pools,
and the Library will be closed
during this period.

this week’s ’’National Observer.”
The Observer is a new national
weekly newspaper published by
Dow Jones & Co., distributed out
of Washington, D C.
The article, "In Rural Oregon,
Citizens Ponder Juvenile Crime,”
reports on the juvenile delin
quency problem in the area and
the study being made by the
Lane County Youth Study Board,
of which Polk is research direc
tor. The Lane project has been
awarded a $129,000 federal study
grant, the first awarded to a rural
area.
The publication says that Polk
plans to use a score of Univer
| sity graduate students in his re
