Ducklings meet Rooks in 'Little Civil War' The Oregon Frost) will seek its third straight victory when the Ducklings tangle with the Oregon State Rooks in the ‘•Little Civil War" at Corvallis on Thanksgiving morning. Game time is 10 a.m. The Ducklings whitewashed the Rooks. 12-0. in their first meeting at Portland on a wet and cold Nov. 2 evening. Duck ling halfback Cary Tommeraa son scored the first six pointer in that game on a 28-yard run and Bob Buries intercepted a pass for the other touchdown. The Rook offense is spear headed by the passing of quarter back Gordon Queen from St. Mary’s high school in Berkeley, Calif. Queen had a bad evening against‘the Ducklings in the oth er encounter between the two teams, completing only two pass es and having two intercepted by the alert Duck secondary. Against Washington, Queen completed eight of eleven passes for 217 yards and threw three touchdown passes in the 46-8 Rook win. He had another good after noon against the Washington State Coubabes. although the Rooks dropped the thriller, 22 20, connecting on 11 of 17 passes for 196 yards. Queen’s main targets are a pair of 6-4 ends, Scott Miller from Kelso and Doug McDougal of Portland's Wilson high. Dan Espalin at left half, and Art O'Grady at full back. The Ducklings will be paced by the passing of quarterback Mike Brundage and the running if halfbacks Gary Tommeraason and Chuck Miller. Brundage has thrown three touchdown passes thus far this season. Tommeraason leads the Duck lings in scoring, hitting paydirt four times for 24 points. THE UITKLINU8 have a 2-0-1 reooid this season.
