Oregon student wins college billiards title Two University students par ticipated in competition last week-end at West Lafayette, In diana, in the National College Billiards Finals. Darlene McCabe, a freshman in architecture, and Les Ross, a "cnior in history, both advanced to the finals on the Purdue cam pus, with Mias McCabe winning the national coed pocket billiards title. Both Oregon entrants had com peted in a telegraph tournament with hundreds of other college billiard players last month, and were selected for the tourney on basts of best individual scores. They represented the Northwest regi -n of the country, which in cluded parts of Idaho, Washing ton and Oregon. Back at Lafayette, Miss Mc Cabe faced the two other finalists in her special event, the “14.1 coed pocket billiards,” and emerged victorious with two con secutive victories and the indi vidual championship.
