Varsity riflemen awarded trophy hor the third year in a row, the University’s varsity rifle team has been named "the most im proved participating t^am" in the Willamette Valley Rifle League. THE GOLD trophy was re ceived this week and la on dis play in the ROTC building. Lou la S. Turk, varsity team member, won the trophy for the higheat team member average in the league's competition. Jones, of the School of Business Administra tion, will represent the Univer sity at the spring convention of the Western Business Education Association in Phoenix, Arizona, April 14-18. Miss Jones is acting head of the department of business educa tion in the school of business ad ministration. “The Challenge of the 60’s” will be the theme of the three-day conference. Representatives from Oregon, Washington, California, Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Montana, and Ari zona will be in attendance. Music students to perform today Marilyn Hayden and Nina Sackett students at the School of Music will present a voice and organ recital Wednesday in the music school auditorium. The re cital begins at 4 p.m. Marilyn Hayden, a soprano, will sing Mozart’s "Motet: Ex sultate, Jubilate.” Her piano ac companist is Mrs. M. D. Hartzell. Nina Sackett, organist, will play Bach's "Three Chorale Pre ludes from the Liturgical Year” and “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor." Her other selections are “The Celestial Banquet” by Mes siaen, “Sonata I” by Hindemith, and “Piece Heroique” by Franck. Ushers for the recital will be members of Mu Phi Epsilon, mu sic sorority.
