Anyone interest ed should contact the intra mural office in the HE build ing as soon as possible. The second contest of the day saw Pht Delta Theta gain easy 31-12 decision over Delta Tau Delta. In the final action of the Grapplers open home schedule against MACers The undefeated Oregon wres tling squad opens its home season Saturday night by facing the po tent Multnomah Athletic Club. The Webfoot grapplers of coach Mike Keutcr returned Saturday from a successful northern trip In which they garnered wins over Washington and College of Puget Sound. The Ducks whitewashed the Huskies by a 32-0 score and then topped CPS 28-10. Also on tap for the Webfoot wrestlers fs a battle with the Kresbmen wrestlers after the Oregon-Washington basketball game. The Duckling grapplers have two contests under their belts. Coach George Krupicka's freshmen downed Canby early in December and then tied Grants Pass Saturday night. The victors jumped out to a 14-10 lead over the losers in the first half. Scoring eight points in a lowing effort were Bob Riche lieu and Gene Walkama. The second contest of the day found the Phi Delta gaining an early lead and then adding to their margin to gain an easy 31-12 victory. The victorious Phi Delta held an 11-6 margin at halftime. Pacing the victorious Phi Delta was Pete King with 8 tallies. Theta Chi jumped out to an insurmountable 19-6 halftime lead and then proceeded to build up that margin to gain a 35-16 win. DU’s Slesser scored 11 points to lead all scorers in the first round of action. Theta Chi's Den ny Olsen potted 10 points to lead his team's victory. A change has been announced in the intramural schedules in handball and basketball. Hunter Hall will be replaced in basket ball and handball by Barrister Inn. Ducks step up drills for Husky hoop clash wregons nasKeioan wpriooih i stopped up drills thin week in preparation for their upcoming clash with the disappointing Washington Huskies in Eugene Friday. The Huskies of coach Tippy Dye were ratedt heavy favorites for the 1959 PCC title but have dropped three of their first four conference tilts. Coach Steve Sei ko's Ducks split their first two contests on the opening week end. Washington is led by 6-9 Bruno Boin and 6-7 Doug Smart. Smart scored 35 points in the Huskies only conference victory of the season against UCLA. Boin is back in action after a year’s lay off and Smart is in his third sea son as a regular on the Wash ington squad. The Webfoot squad was re cently bolstered as 6-4 sopho more Pudgy Hunt regained his eligibility. Hunt will be a valu able addition in the Duck re- | bounding and scoring depart ments and will probably see plenty of action in the upcom ing conference games. The Friday contest will be Oregon’s first game since the 59-57 upset over defending cham pion California. Coach Belko’s eagers had a day off last Monday and then resumed drills Tuesday. Belko’s squad is in good physi cal condition after the two week layoff. Guard Bud Kuykendall was reported suffering with a cold over the weekend but is expected to see action for the Husky battle. The Ducks will be attempting to repeat last year's perfor mance against the Seattle team. In the 1958 conference campaign the Webfoots upend ed the Huskies in both meet ings between the squads. Ore gon edged the Washington quintet in Eugene by a 57-53 score and then gained an over time 87-83 win in Seattle. Despite Washington's poor conference showing in the first four contests, the Huskies are •till a squad to be reckoned with and will pose a problem to Web foot defenses. Boin and Smart are excellent rebounders and fine shooters and should provide plenty of activity for Oregon de fenses. The Huskies won eight of 11 preseason contests and have dropped two games to California and one to Stanford In conference activity. Ofily common foe the Webfoots and Huskies have met up to date in conference action is California. The Washingtonians dropped two to the Bears by 11-point mar gins, whereas Oregon gained a narrow 59-57 win over Pete New ell’s defending conference cham pions. Judging by past Oregon-Wash ington games the Friday game should be a thriller with the Hus kies "Tree-top twins” of Boin and Smart providing plenty of action. BROKE? NEED A JOB?
