Awards to outstanding women
students and a near-record
amount of scholarship money
were presented at the annual
AWS Awards assembly Monday.
Included In the awards were
certificates for the outstanding
women in the fields of speech,
drama, art, leadership and schol
arship.
Receiving awards were Betty
Seely, the 1'hi Chi Theta award
for outstanding senior woman in
business; Marjorie Ziniker, the
Alpha Lambda Delta hook award
for the highest grade point ave
rage of a senior woman.

The University military tie
partment recently named a sei
les of award winners. All are stii
dents in the Air Force ROTC
programs. Awards are presentee
on the basis of outstanding
achievement in both academic
and leadership areas.

He said the matter will be dis
co. sed soon at a meeting of the

Knight said that, while he
thought improvements could be
made in enforcement of the tra
ditions, if "you have traditions at
all they should be enforced.”
Two University administrative
officials were dismayed at Order
of the O action.
A. L. Kllingson, director of the
Student Union, said "it's time
someone says there is no enforce
ment of traditions on this campus
at all .., they (the lettermen i are
just ‘grabbing girls’."
Dean of Men Kay Hawk ex
pressed his concern over the inci
dents and asked for student ac
tion on the matter.
