Oregon tripped the University
of Washington in two crucial
Northern Division baseball con
tests Friday and Saturday and
vaulted into the ND lead with a
perfect 3-0 record. The wins
were the Ducks' eighth aud ninth
straight.
Coach Don Kirsch's club won
by 13-12 and 8-5 margins and
used big innings in each game.
Both the Huskies and the Ducks
had on their hitting clothes and
the pitchers wilted before the
onslaught of base hits.
The Webfoots hit the road this
weekend for six games in eight
days. They face Washington
State at Pullman Friday and
Saturday, Idaho at Moscow Mon
day and Tuesday, and Washing
ton at Seattle Friday and Satur
day after that.
Play the Emeralds
The home schedule takes up
again May 17 when they are
scheduled against the Eugene
Emeralds at Emerald park. Ore
gon State will be here for a
doubleheader on May 20. and
the Ducks will journey north to
Corvallis for another twinbill on
May 21. That winds up the
Northern Division season.
In the Friday game Washing
ton jumped to a 5-0 lead in the
first inning, but Oregon peeked

Eugene's Axemen are young
but boast one of the top prep
squads in the state. Although
weather conditions have prevent

their district 5-A-l season, pre
league action has proved them
tough to beat.
The Frosh have plenty of ac

McChord Air Force base slated
for a doubleheader Wednesday
and Clark college scheduled for
single games Friday and Sat
urday.
