Sterling will send Ray Green, Jack McBrien, Dick Lolcoma, Howard Timmons, Bob Drynan, Jay Dearing, George Krupicka and Alvin Denham to start for the frosh. Duck Coach Bill Ham mer said Roy Schlesser, Bob Wil liams, Dave Newland, Roland Wilson, Jock Hendrickson, Ken Kesey and Heavyweight Dave Lowe will grapple for the Ducks. Vlaatelica la the Beavers’ lead ing scorer for the year and his 33 points against Washington in last Saturday's game was termed by Oregon Freshman Coach Don Kirsch as one of the greatest exhibitions of shooting ever seen. The 7’ 3" Halbrook is a doubt ful starter at center for the Bea vers after Orange Coach Slats Gill suspended the giant center earlier in the week in disciplin ary action, presumably because hn didn’t attend any cl aw.sen for two days. Heaton Records Same Comparing tbe two teams, both now have an 8-8 season’s record with nearly-identical offensive and defensive averages for con ference play, although OSC is the Coaat's top defensive team for the whole season so far. Both clubs average about 6’ 4” with their usual starting lineups, al though Hal brook is the tallest player on either team with sec ond-string center Phil Shadoin scaling 7’. Individually, the Ducks have an edge boasting the league’s top scorer and rebounder in For ward Jim Loscutoff, who has hit for nearly 20 points-per-game with a rebound average of 16.2. Max Anderson is runner-up in the league in rebounds with near ly 12 per game while Guard Howard Page is the highest-scor ing outside man in the league. £ HOOK SHOT ARTIST Tony Vlanteliea may be Oregon State’s nuUn hope against Oregon tonight and Saturday If the Be-jvers’ giant, Wade Hallirook, will be watching action from the standi an rumored. r Halbrook Tops Scorers For Oregon State, Halbrook' I lea/1 a the club in conference ! scoring with 60 points in four games followed by Vlastelica with 51. Vlastelica has a 13.1 average for the full season to top that department. Dean and Halbrook are leading the Bea vers in conference rebounds with nearly nine per game each. Possibly three juniors will open for Gill tonight on the senior dominated Oregon State team, depending on whether Halbrook or Shadoin, a sophomore, opens at center. Both Halbrook and Dean are in their second year on the Oregon State varsity as is 6’ 3” Larry Paulus from Salem, a recent addition to the Beaver first five at guard.
