Music Movies Set
“Music of the Masters,” a pro
gram of educational films on
classical music, will be presented
tonight in Commonwealth 138.
There will be two showings of
each program, the first showing
beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The program will include: “Con
cert by Martinelli,’ star of the
Metropolitan; “George Bizet,” life
and music of the composer of
"Carmen;” “The Barber of Se
ville,” excerpts from Bizet's opera;
"Oberon,’ conducted by Bruno
Walter; “Der Freischultz Over
ture,’ Paris Conservatory, and
“Keyboard Concert,” Gallico three
piano ensemble.

Ten teams have signed up for
the Fraternity Bowling League,
according to Lou A. Bellisimo,
Student Union recreation director.
The teams entered are Lambda
Chi Alpha, Theta Chi, Phi Kappa
Sigma, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Delta
Upsilon, Pi Kappa Phi, Sigma Al
pha Epsilon, Sigma Alpha Mu,
Phi Kappa Psi and Alpha Tau
Omega.
Meeting Called
For Petitioners
A meeting of all petitioners for
Student Union activities will be
held in the Dad’s lounge, today
from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m., according
to John Shaffer, SU personnel
committee chairman.
At this meeting the chairmen
of the SU committees will outline
their part in the SU program for
the year, and separate petitions
indicating choice of committeess
may be filled out. No approval
from the office of student affairs
will need to be obtained, since the
original program staff petition is
already approved, Shaffer added.

Haar Named to Fill
Committee Posts
Franklin Haar, professor 0f
health education, has received ap
pointments to three committees
in this state and the northwest.
He was named to the constitu
tion revision committee of the
Northwest district of the Ameri
can Association for Health, Phys
ical Education and Recreation. His
term on this standing committee
is for an indefinite period.
Haar has also been named to
the policy committee for the state
association the function of which
is to establish .general policies
which underlie standards for
teacher education in the field ol
health education.
His third appointment is to the
central state committee on educa
tion standards in health education.
This group, an extension of the
policy-forming body, was appoint
ed to develop curricula conducive
to carrying out what was advocat
ed by the policy committee.
