Bowerman Drills Tracksters In
Preparation For 05C Contest
Coach Bill Bowerman slated
heavy drills for the Oregon cinder
men today and throughout the two
week layoff. On the agenda are
an inter-squad meet Friday and
time trials some time next week.
The Ducks will be preparing
specifically for , the big OSC-Ore
gon meet in Eugene the sixteenth,
but with an eye on the Northern
Division meet the twenty-third at
Eugene which will crown the di
vision champion.
Bowerman is expected to do a
considerable amount of experi
menting in an attempt to strength
en the team for the meet.
Last year the Webfoot track
men entered the meet heavily fav
ored with a clean slate in dual ac
tion. However, the injury-plagued
Oregon men were upset by the
Washington Huskies.
This year the Ducks will be try
ing for the same sort of upset and
must be considered a definite dark
horse for the championship.
Vandals Tip Duck
Wine by 16-6 Count
Oregon’s varsity baseball nine
dropped a high-scoring tilt to the
Idaho Vandals Tuesday afternoon
in Moscow by a 16-6 score.
The loss gives the Ducks a 6-3
northern Division record, but
leaves them still in possession of
first place in the ND.
Nothing, no nothing beats Em
erald sports for clarity and in
terest.
