In intramural softball play Tues day afternoon, the Legal Eagles downed Merrick hall 15-14 in a high scoring contest, Sigma Alpha Epsilon seized a victory from the Chi Psis, 14-8, and Beta Theta Pi won out over the Delta Upsilon nine in a close game. The Legal Eagle-Merrick fracas saw the winners come from, be hind to take a five run lead going into the last inning, and then near ly lose out as the men from Mer rick made a four run rally. The victory gives the Beta squad a 5-1 record in league play, and they will meet the Sigma Nu softballers this afternoon for the league championship. PMDING CHAMPIONSHIP -$.i Bowerman Drills Tracksters In Preparation For 05C Contest Coach Bill Bowerman slated heavy drills for the Oregon cinder men today and throughout the two week layoff. On the agenda are an inter-squad meet Friday and time trials some time next week. The Ducks will be preparing specifically for , the big OSC-Ore gon meet in Eugene the sixteenth, but with an eye on the Northern Division meet the twenty-third at Eugene which will crown the di vision champion. Bowerman is expected to do a considerable amount of experi menting in an attempt to strength en the team for the meet. Last year the Webfoot track men entered the meet heavily fav ored with a clean slate in dual ac tion. However, the injury-plagued Oregon men were upset by the Washington Huskies. This year the Ducks will be try ing for the same sort of upset and must be considered a definite dark horse for the championship. Vandals Tip Duck Wine by 16-6 Count Oregon’s varsity baseball nine dropped a high-scoring tilt to the Idaho Vandals Tuesday afternoon in Moscow by a 16-6 score.
