DAILY & SUNDAYS TILL 11 iOO P.M. 13th at High St. Dial 4-1342 Huskies to Arrive Today; Slate Drills Rival coaches Bill Borcher of the I'niversity of Oregon and Tippv Dye ol the l niver sity of Washington ordered a single dosage of light drills for \heir respective squads this afternoon at McArthur court, on the eve of the two-game Northern Division series here, Friday and Saturday nights. The Ducks will work out at 3:15 p.m. and then will turn over the hardwood to the unpredictable Seattlites. Bert Hose, Husky news bureau chief announced that the league leaders will fly into Eugene at 3:30 pan. Borcher: Webfoot* ‘Fair’ After supervising a two-hour drill Wednesday afternoon with the emphasis on over-coming both defensive and offensive Washing ton tactics, the Oregon coach said that his Webfoots looked ’•fair," but would have to sharpen consid erably in order to be able to upset the visitors. First on the day's agenda was a defensive drill employing Ken Hunt and Bob Hawes at the guards and Bob Peterson, Chet Noe and Kenny Wegner as the Inner-de fense. A team of ex-Oregon ath letes, sometimes augmented by Hank Bonneman, portrayed the Huskies throughout the aftrrnoon. Included were Ernie Baldini, Bob Hamilton, Jack McElvray, Paul Sowers and Brad Fullerton. Borcher then installed Barney Holland and Bud Covey as the outer-defense, and deployed Keith Farnam, Mel Streeter and Jim Vranizan under the backboards. The Duck boss then reinstated the first-stringers and encouraged a pressing, close-checking defense. JV’s to Play Pair Far more success was gained when Borcher switched the Ducks onto the attack as the Oregonians mastered the "Washington's" loose man-to-man defense and cashed in with accurate shooting and good coverage of the boards. The full-court scrimmage fell somewhat short of the desired ef fect, being overrun with wild pass ing and sloppy defensive work. Oregon's junior varsity quintet are slated to meet the Clark Junior College Penguins, of Vancouver, Wash, in Friday night’s prelimi nary at 6:00. Dun Kirsch's five will host Everybody’s Drug store the following night. University Business manager Howard Lemmons announced that general admission tickets for Fri day’s game will go on sale at 5:00 p.m. He also said that 750 tickets will be available to Oregon dads who are registered for this week Gustatory note: Appetite comes with eating .. • but tliirst departs with drinki ing Rabelais You can lose thirst in a hurry with a bottle of ice-cold Coca-Cola . . . and find sparkling refreshment. The individaul medley men drill ed on their kicking, doing several double leg sprints, flutters and breast stroke kicks.
