Legislature Trip Plans (Continued from pace two) for nearly a month, the Young Re publicans’ president said. Points being considered are transporta tion, expense, and date of the pro posed trip. The situation in Salem is also involved, Collin noted, in cluding choice of an interesting chamber and committee session, reservation of gallery space, and arrangements for a luncheon and possible tour. Board Hears Idea Collin presented the idea of the trip before a meeting of the Young Republicans’ state executive board Sunday. The executive board gave full approval to the proposed trip, Col lin said. It advocates such excur sion for college clubs in carrying out their educational purpose. Also representing the Univer sity group at the meeting were Ed Peterson, senior in music and regional representative of the ex ecutive board in the Third Cong ressional District; Ellen Christian sen, junior in political science and Oregon representative to the state executive board, and Bill Hempy, junior in physics. Physicist to Tell Universe Theory As part of the University Lec ture Series, E. G. Ebtaighausen, associate professor of physics, will talk on “A Theor yof the Universe” at 8 p.m. Thursday in 207 Chap man. Ebbighausen will base his lecture on the theory that the sun, meteo rites, and the earth may be of com mon origin. Speaking in terms that the ordinary layman will under stand, he will present his topic or a popular level. The lecture is open to students the faculty, and townspeople. Actors Needed For Short Show Tryouts for a one-act drama will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tues day in 101 Villard., according' to Director Don Frost, senior in speech. The play will be given Jan. 30 in the experimental theatre, Vil lard. Rehearsals will be scheduled later this week. “There is a real opportunity for an outstanding male actor,” Frost emphasized.
