£me%cdd Gav&i Qisd, Full of vim, vigor, and vitality—that’s vivacious Betty Arnold, Emerald Cover Girl of 1950. Personable Betty, who was a rally squad girl last year, spends her spring term studying and sunning on the Pi Phi sun porch. When Gene Rose took these pictures, Betty was a very busy girl. Rose was rushed for time, and took all five pictures the same day. So Betty’s a “quick change” artist, too. On the serious side, Betty is majoring in social science and hopes to become “a real good secretary.” Emerald cover girls are picked for personality, charm, vitality, and photogenic qualities; all of which Betty has in abundance. She was a Betty Co-ed finalist her sophomore year, and is rushing chair man of Pi Phi. Last summer she was on the College Board of Lipman W’olfe and Co. in Portland. This summer Betty’s going to either summer school or business school in Portland, depending upon whether or not she intends to return to Oregon next Fall term. Mm Hetty Arnold
