P. Schleicher, politi cal science professor, said Friday. Schleicher commented on the action of George W. Armstrong, wealthy oil man, who, in donating the money, demanded that the in stitution be under his control and that superiority of Anglo-Saxons and Latin Americans over Negroes and Asiatics be taught. RACE SUPREMACY “Can a person possibly teach the superiority of Anglo-Saxons, or any race, and at the same time conform to the Jeffersonian belief that all men are equal?” Schleicher asked. “I regard this educational policy as bordering on the subversive and treasonable in that it not only weakens us in the eyes of those abroad but that it is contrary to popular belief here at home.” XJ.N. DECLARATION QUOTED Schleicher pointed out that the proposed educational plan is con trary to all beliefs in a Christian democracy. For example, he said, Article 26, section 2 of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights says: “Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthen ing of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups.” The United Press reported Frh day that a spokesman for the school Jefferson Military College, denied that it would teach white supremacy to qualify for the en dowment.
