By 'O' Women; Result—Wet!!

The Order of the O men turned
out in force to meet the new Or
der of the O women yesterday
in front of the Side, both, incident
ly, getting hit from above, below,
and around, with water bags.
The men mingled with the spec
tators instead of appearing as
violators, but the craftiness of the
women picked out the men and the
waterbagging began. The activity
girls appeared to be out of prac
tice with their swinging arms and
the bags consistently missed their
targets. Finally Barbara Borrevick
began hitting from below with
buckets of water.
Wayne Bartholomy should be
crowned the King of Chintze
according to Kay Schneider, Mor
tar Board ball chairman. He
showed up when it was almost
over A minor riot started when
he appeared, but more of the
women were hit than the Big
Chintz.
Bob Wallace retreated to the
backroom of the University Sport
Shop when the overpowering Or
der of the O girls started after
him. His boss “protected little Bob
by locking him in the storeroom.
He apparently didn't want him to
get wet,” was the comment by
Miss Sneider.
Jake Leicht was hit squarely on
the head with a full bucket of
water; Robin Arkley got it sitting
down; Ro£er Wiley put up a good
fight but lost in the end; and Ross
“Sates and Marv Rassmussen, to
mention just a few, took their
share. The women took vengeance
on Ed Crobat after his Junior
Weekend lists, and A1 Peitschman
came prepared with a cellophane
covering.
The fellows did not give up,
however, and the Sigma Chi hose
was put into use against the O
Women and the curious bystand
ers. Chairman-Schneider said “Fair
warning" to the Sigma Chis. The
hose incident seemed, to put a
fiendish idea into the O Men's
heads, however, and the dunking
party ended with both the defense
and the opposition getting drench
ed
If the spirit of the water bag
ging is extended to the Mortar
Board Ball, those attending “Lad
ies Night” at Mac Court tonight
will see a crowded dance floor,
said Miss Sneider.
ISA Postpones Elections
ISA elections were postponed un
til June 3 last night after an ISA
nominating assembly decided that
the previous May 27 date followed
the ASUO elections too closely.
Nominations for ISA positions will
be open until midnight Monday. Pe
titions may be submitted to ISA

To Speak Sunday
Rev. Lloyd Jacobsen, student
pastor of the Portland Lutheran
Student Association, will be the
guest speaker at the University
Lutheran student Sunday supper
meeting.
Rev Jacobsen's topic will be
“Our Social Responsibility: War
and Peace.”
Originally the student pastor at
the University of California at
Berkeley and formerly a navy
chaplain, Rev. Jacobsen is vitally
interested in student affairs and
their relation to lasting peace.
Music for the evening will be a
piano solo by Joan Triolo, a trio
consisting of Donna and Cleo
Stageburg, and Janet Kelsey will
sing.
