Junior to Perform Lead in Play; Diane Barnhardt Shows Talent By PAT KING As the ultra-sophisticated Lorraine Sheldon in “The Man Who came to Dinner,” Diane Barnhart, junior in drama, will appear in her first role on the University stage. “I’m afraid I’ll always play either a meanie or an angel,” she said resignedly, and her piquant features seem to bear out her belief. A tall girl, Diane’s green eyes, ivory skin, and long dark brown hair should be to her advan tage as Lorraine, the vamp. She is one of Sheridan Whiteside’s (Cliff James) weapons to break up the love affair between his secretary (Marie DiLoreto) and yo.ung jour nalist (Lavorn Taylor). Traveled in East After traveling to most of the large eastern cities this summer where she saw several summer theaters, Diane decided she would like to go into summer theater after graduating. “I have eventual hopes of Broad way, but that’s a long way off,” laughed Diane, who is a member of Delta Zeta. She is well aware of the training and hard work in volved in the long hard climb to becoming a really good actress.
