    Men, Women Plan
Rushing Activities
Women#s Rush:
A “new deal” swept the Pan
hellenic office and1 rushing rules
this year to iron away wrinkles
and perplexities of previous rush
ing seasons, according to a re
port from the dean of women’s
office.
Main changes in women’s fall
term rushing are:
1. The rushing period will be
shortened one day—Thursday
through Tuesday, September 17
to 22.
2. The usual preference night
dinner will be abolished.
3. A new system of preferen
tial bidding will be installed.
4. Added daily date, tea, 4 to
5 o’clock.
With the abolishment of the
traditional preference dinner
which proved in the past merely
a repetition of the activities of
the pledge banquet, Panhellenc
officers and Mrs. Marjorie Rey
nolds, Panhellenic secretary, felt
that the rushing period could be
shortened by one day.
Under the new preferential bid
ding, sororities will turn into of
ficials at Gerlinger two lists by
11 o’clock Monday evening. The
first list will be first preference
girls. The second will list in order
the alternates.
On the same evenng the would
be Greeks will list in order of
their preference the sororities
they are interested in.
Rushees may call for their
bids Tuesday morning between 9
and 11 o’clock and go immediate
ly to the house of their choice.
Campus clothes are “the”
thing for the newly-added after
noon tea date. According to Pan
hellenic rules, the dinner date i3
considered most important, then
luncheon and the tea.
Men's Rush:
Men’s rush week takes the stage
Friday, September 18, with only
the usual fanfare, but with' all
the traditional hustle and rustle
in the face of a war-time enroll
ment drop.
One new note will enter this
year’s five-day rush period; asc
