Twelve girls, chosen for outstanding aptitude for journal ism and for interest in newspaper work, will be initiated into the group at that time. Those named at the Emerald banquet on Monday were: Marge Curtis, Ellen Ogawa, Margie Robinson, Janet Wagstaff, Carol Greening, Marjorie Major, Joanne Nichols, Ruth Jordan, Mary Wolf, Barbara Lamb, Ann Reynolds, and Rylla Hattan. Mrs. Eric W. Allen, alumni ad viser of the group, will be present at the ceremonies. Grads to Get Tickets, Instructions May 27 Printed instructions and tickets for seniors and candidates for degrees will be available May 27 in the Alumni office in Friendly hall. Every senior is urged to call in person for his instructions as well as the tickets. Each senior is entitled to three tickets to commencement and baccalaureate service for his friends and family. May 30 the office will give out any tick ets that are left after the seniors receive their allotment of three. The same ticket is used for the baccalaureate service and com mencement. Saturday, May 30, 12 noon— University luncheon in John Straub hall. President’s reception for alumni, faculty, and guests in Alumni hall at 4 p.m. Failing Beekman orations at 8 p.m. Sunday, May 31—Baccalaure ate service at 11 a.m. in McAr thur court. Open house from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Flower and fern proces sion at 6:30. Commencement ex ercises at 8 p.m. in McArthur court. Two Fliers (Continued from page one) Lieutenant Clever was here until spring term of last year, ac cording to one of his professors, Andrew Vincent, professor of drawing and painting. Clever was majoring in drawing and painting and was doing excep tionally fine work, his teacher volunteered when the former stu dent was mentioned. He would have graduated this year if he had not quit school to enlist in the air corps. Clever lived at Campbell club while he was on the campus. He came here from Portland where his family is living at present. His father, C. C. Clever is a foreman at a Portland machine shop. Lieutenant Emmens Lieutenant Emmens was a UO Grad Now 'Rumor Spiker* The job of “rumor detective” for the state of Massachusetts has been taken over by Robert H. Knapp, ’38, according to word re ceived here Monday. Knapp’s title is director of state propaganda study, and his job consists in keeping on the “tail of careless talk,” according to the Boston Herald. He was graduated with general honors in German, English and psychology, and in 1938 and 1939 was graduate assistant in the ra diology department. ’ member of the class of ’35. He came here to major in pre-med but changed his course to music in his third' year. He was known as a conscientious student and was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. Emmens recently married Jus tine Miller who was a member of the class of ’38 and affiliated with Gamma Phi Beta sorority. President Donald M. Erb said of the heroes’ participation in the raid, “It isn’t often that I have the opportunity cf congratu lating University boys on feats such as Clever and Emmens ha\^ just accomplished in the bombing of Tokyo.
