Defense Psychology Studied in Seminar A seminar,course in the socio log cal psychology of national de t'ea-c ia offered this term under the direction of Dr. Robert Lee pe , of the psychology depart merit and Dr Lawrence S. Bee of the sociology department. The se inar is held Monday evenings 'fro 7 to 9 in room 207 Oregon. ! Students may still register for credit and anyone may attend the isesaions without credit. A mini mi.' a of 13 hours in sociology or psychology is required to get credit for the course. Christmas Card From Honolulu Slightly Late A letter and Christmas card mailed on December 20th from Honolulu was received yesterday by Mrs. Mabel A. Houck, secre tary and librarian of the architec tuer and allied arts school, from Hugh Wynn, ’41, and Roy Swango, a fifth year student in landscape architecture here last year. The Oregon men say they like the islands despite the showers of bombs, and plan to take a lot of pictures—weather and war per mitting. They are working at the administration building in Pearl Harbor as draftsmen. “We will be back in a year if the war ends before then, but until then ‘Rember Pearl Har bor.' and let’s beat the tar out of the Japs." The Christmas card was one the boys had made. It is a picture of themselves taking a movie of three hula girls on the beach. Below the picture are the words “Melikalikamaka—Hauoli Maka Mikihon,” which, according to Johnny Kahananui. junior in journalism from Hawaii, means Merry Christmas and Happy New Year; War Morale Survey Started at Oregon Student morale at the Univer sity is the subject of a survey being undertaken this week by the department of general studies under general social science it was announced yesterday by Richard Thomas, graduate assist ant in social science, who is carrying on the survey. “The main body of the survey is a series of multiple choice questions designed to determine how each person answering ranks on a scale of general and nation al. or war morale,” Mr. Thomas explained. The questionnaires will be de livered to the various living places of the students personally and called for later. Staples Leads Field Trip In Topographical Study Dr. Lloyd W. Staples, acting head of the geology and, geogra phy departments, will lead a geology field trip Sunday. The party will leave Condon at 2 p.m. The purpose of the trip will be to study topographical features and types of outcroppings in the area north and east of Eugene. ’’The two-day field trip to the Oregon coast has been scheduled for the weekend of February 7 and 8,” Dr. Staples announced.
