'Shy Panthino' Huntington C. A. “Shy" Huntington . . . Eugene businessman and graduate of the Universtiy who plays the role of “Panthino” in tomorrow night’s play “Two Gentlemen from Verona” at the Garden theater behind the music school building. VLT, University Theater Players Cast in Next Play The initial garden theater play, “Twq Gentlemen of Verona” which will open at 9 o’clock tomorrow night, is to be representative of the combined efforts of members of the Eugene Very Little Theater and th University theater, under the direction of Mrs. Ottilie Seybolt of the Oregon drama department. C. A. “Shy” Huntington, VLT member, will take the part of Pan ' 'Shakes' Free Gilde Gray, \\)io shook and “shimmied” her way to fame, shown in a Los Angeles court when she shook off a husband. She di vorced Hector Briceno on deser tion grounds. TO MARE FIELD TRIP Approximately twenty members of James C. Stovall’s field geogra phy class will make a field trip to the coast Sunday. The trip, an.annual event, will serve as an opportunity to compare physiographic features of land near Eugene with that along the sea shore. The class plans to go from Newport to Reedsport and come back by the Umpqua river. Four Alexanders—a father and three sons—are enrolled in the University of Toledo. thino, secretary to Antonio, Pro teus’ father, played by Bill Tug man, also of the Eugene group. Huntington has been seen by lo cal audiences in “A Sunny Morn ing,” and other productions. Tug man will be remembered for his portrayal of the governor in “The Fox Laughs.” Professor Has Part Professor Robert Horn, who is to play the part of the Duke of Milan, father of Silvia, was unfor gettable as “Begriffenfeld” in Horace Robinson’s presentation of “Peer Gynt” last month in the Igloo. Gene Edwards, Thurio in the play, who is the rival of Valentine ior Silvia’s hand, is another mem ber of the Very Little theater, as is Wilfred Roadman, who has the part of Speed, a lively, pun-loving servant to Valentine, who furnish es the lighter notes of the com edy. Opening Hour Is Late The late hour of the opening— 9 o’clock—has been set in ac knowledgment of a special feature at the music building immediately preceding the performance—an or gan recital by William McKinney and Janet Felt, graduating seniors of the school of music. Horace Robinson will handle lighting arrangements for the pro duction, which is to be given un der typical Elizabethan stage fa cilities. The “theater” it§elf is the product of landscaping done by Professor F. A. Cuthbert of the school of architecture. In case of rain on the dates of the performance, May 19, 20, and 21, the entire production will move to Guild theater in Johnson hall. Graduates Take Master's Exams Two University students, Lyle | L. Small and Frank Beamed, are taking final oral examinations for master’s degrees this week. Mr. Small, Eugene high school , teacher, majored in education. He | took his examination Tuesday af ternoon. His thesis was titled “Democratic Ideals of Certain Eighteenth Century Statesmen and Implications Thereof Having Meaning for Modern Education.” Mr. Learned had his major in economics and history as his min or subject. Green Goose May Postpone Publication At an emergency meeting called for 10 o’clock tonight members of the Green Goose staff will be faced with the possi bility of postponing their publi cation date in order to be able to cover the last big story of the term on the campus, staff mem bers revealed yesterday. The original date set for the edition was May 25, but due to an extra “clean” story that will “break” next Wednesday night, the scandal sheet may come out Thursday of next week. Promise of the latest in cam pus photos of “hotshots” was made du eto the fact that spe cial engravings can easily be made due to the fact that spe equipment secured by staff re porters are thick fur earmuffs to shut out the many veiled and unveiled threats received. Sigma Omega Chi To Hear Speech On Public Welfare Peter Sullivan, administrator of the Lane county relief committee, will address the members of Sig ma Omega Chi, social science hon orary, Wednesday evening in |' umni hall at 8 o’clock. His talk on “Public Welfare ip Lane County” yvill be illustrated with various forms and applications which per sons seeking relief are required to fill out. Mr. Sullivan graduated from the University of Oregon law school in 1930. Following the address will be a brief business meeting, it was an nounced by Chandler Stevens, president of Sigma Omega Chi. Jake Frederickson earns his way through the University of Minne sota by catching rats in university j buildings.
