TO MEET 11C. Varsity Trains for Return Contest on April 11 OREGON CHANCES BRIGHT Boggs, 220 Yard Champion, Strengthens Squad A return swimming meet will be held at Corvallis with the Oregon Agricultural college varsity on Saturday, ^pril 11. In the first meet, held in the local tank, the Aggies proved winners by a close score of 36 to 32. The chances for an Oregon vic tory are very bright because Rob ert Boggs, state 220 yard champion, will be eligible for varsity compe tition. Boggs was ineligible last term because of the University residence rule. Boggs holds the Oregon state 220 yard free style record, swimming that distance in 2:37 1-5. Boggs will probably swim the 100, 220 and in the relay. This should bring the varsity’s chances up to par with that of the Aggies. However, the Aggies will have Peterson, who holds the state record in the 50 yard dash. This man was.not eligi ble for varsity swimming at O. A. C. last term. The varsity, after spring vaca tion, is again working hard to got into shape for the coming meet. Sinclair, who swims the breast stroke, is working to defeat the Ag gie swimmer, who defeated him in the first meet. Julian Smith, a new man, will swim in the 220-yard event for the Lemon-Yellow. The men on the Oregon squad are: Lombard, Stone and McCabe, 50 yard dash; Boggs and Lombard, 100 yard dash; Erickson and Gard ner, 10O yard back stroke; Sinclair. 100 yard breast stroke; Boggs and Smith, 220 yard dash; MeCabe and Stone, diving; Samuels, plunge; and Lombard, McCabe, Stone and Boggs will comprise the relay team.
