1919, have been exhausted and that
there is a demand for a second edition.
The lack of sufficient materials for

Preppers Punctual Preparation
Towards Thorough Thinking Through Traditions
Thought Tremendously Timely
■EXCLUSIVE MEN’S
__ MEETING NEEDED
There is urgent need for a general
get-to gether of all visiting preppers of
the stronger sex iu order that they may
be versed in the knowledge necessary
to become college men of high calibre
We have often thought that there ex
isted such a need; especially as we look
over some of the raw material that graces
our side walks and talks to our fair
maidens every fall.
This is truly a field for improvement.
Accordingly we, OBAK and Co., have
decided on a course of instruction for
the neophyte fresh now visiting the do
main of the Poineer. So if von have a
visitor in your home show him the fol
lowing list of instructive paragraphs that
i he may know the secret of college life.
First, and formost, of course, get ac
quainted with the best known man in
Eugene. OBAK himself. This is neces
sary for every real college man.
Secondly, when you step out among
college women, "let not thy left girl
know what thy right girl doeth; for as
one who seeketh to fold a newspaper in
a high wind so is one who must argue
with an angry woman.’’
Thirdly, Investigate OBAK’S snow
white luncheouette. It's the biggest
little joy producer m town, making one’s
howling stomach feel like an O. A. C.
rally over a scoreless victory.
Fourthly, supply your self with one
Long Tom black cigarette holder. Ex
cellent for personal grudges and fratern
ity tong wars as it is easily converted
into a war club.
Fifthly, if you wish to throw compli
ments ask a senior to lend you five dol
lars. He may faint but it will please
him any way.
Sixthly, roll your own. both cigarettes
and pool, at OBAK’S. It’s the beet
I piace in town to take your friend and
I the best place to go in case you have no
friend.
Preppers, you are Oregon guests today.
\ou are to find, before you leave, just
'"'hy every one thinks this campus the
best place in the state, even though many
are not permitted by the business office
to hang around.
Many of you are coming back to serve
a four year term next fall. You’ll never
regret it.
Of course we could tell you in acouple
of words that it will take you four years
to find out just how much you don’t
know and that OBAK’S is the best civic
center you will ever come in contact
with, but we won’t.
However, we will tell you that you’ll
never regret knowing all the Oregon tra
ditions. That’s one of the best parts
of school life. So here they are, the best
of them:
1— OBAK S is the place of rest and
refreshment for the real college man.
2— Smoking on the campus is consid
ered quite the thing—as a means of
publicity.
3— If pledged by any representative
campus organization, such as the School
of Commerce or the CO-OP, it is tradi
tional not to speak to loudly of it; some
one might think you believed all that
they had told you.
4— Always speak to your friends,
something like: “Hello Bill! H’ are-yef
See you at OBAK’S to-night.”
5— Bill Hayward, Dean Straub and the
Pioneer are traditions on the campus
too. benig the eldest boys around, so
respect them as such.
6— It is traditional to watch the moon
rise from the grand stand and also
to study nature in the cemetery. Some
Reasoned sophomore co-ed had better be
obtained as a guide.
"—Make OBAK’S your social center.
