Enrollment Now 1640; Total for Year 1842. Hiuce the opening of tin* winter term, 154 new students have entered tin* Uni versity, according* to Carlton Spencer, registrar. Of the 154 there are 5)2 men and 6S2 women. B.v classes 5!) are fresh men, 2ft sophomores. 124 juniors and 10' seniors. New students listed as “spe cials” number 2ft and there are three new graduate students enrolled. The total enrollment for this year to date is 1842 as against 1725 at this time last year. As a number of first term students have withdrawn or were drop ped because of low grades, the actual number attending tin* University at this time is 1040. Last year there were 1554 attending in January. The fact that the number of new stu dents entering this year is 28 less than entered at the same time last year is due probably to the uncertain financial conditions in the farming districts, ac cording to Mr. Spencer.
