Installed. Through the fact that the Medical Department of the University of Ore gon has made extensive improve ments, both in equipment and en trance requirements, it has recently been placed in the Class “A’ division by The American Medical Institute. The entrance requirements have been raised so that a full college year is now required of all prospective stu dents, and it is the intention of the faculty to still further raise the re quirements during the next two years. At the same time, two regular pro fessors have been added, which makes a total of six regular professors be sides the corps of lecturers. This places the department on a level with all Class “A” institutions in the coun try. Equipment has been improved, buildings have been remodeled and refurnished, and the laboratories re plenished with apparatus. Great interest is Deing manifested in football at Pullman, even the pro fessors are out regularly watching Johnnie Bender perfect his 1912 ma chine. Student lunch at the Shack, oooooooooooo o o o EXCHANGE o o o oooooooooooo The annual interelass cross-country race at the University of Washington will be held November 16. Active training has already begun, and each class will make desperate efforts to capture the prize. o o The present registration at the University of Washington tjot^ls 1,862. A number of students are ex pected to register late and bring the number far above last year’s regis tration. o o 0. A. C.’s first football game is scheduled for next Saturday, when the former aggregation will tangle with their alumni. In this contest the col legians will be up against such old time stars as Wolf, Rhinehart, Keck, and Cherry. “Shrimp” Reynolds’ younger bro ther is now trying out for the quar terback position at 0. A. C., and the indications are that he will live up to his brother’s reputation. o o California bids fair to have an other record breaking track team next spring. Although there are several of the veterans missing, there is still a nucleus of the 1912 star aggrega tion left. Among the pioneers, who will be on hand this year are Captain Wood, Hayne, Crabbe, Stanton, “Fin” Wood, Todd, Meyer, Vail, and Allen. Besides these, a number of new men, with exceptional records, will be out for the team. Training has already begun, and Coach Christie expects to have his men in prime shape for the Stanford meet next spring. Weber’s Candy at Obak’s.
