There will be a good musical program, a Santa Claus, Christmas tree, gifts, refresh ments and possibly dancing. * * * The Y. W. C. A. has been fortunate in securing W. H. Stone, of Portland, as speaker at their regular meeting Monday, Dec. 4, in the iGrl’s Gym. * * * The annual bazaar of the Y. W. C. A. will be held Friday afternoon and evening of Dec. 8, in the Presbyterian church. GIRLS’ CLUB EXPERIENCES LACK OF ENTHUSIASM The Girls’ Glee Club is not showing the desired progress because of a lack of interest among the members, say some of the members. Professor Wade who is in charge, expects to put on an operetta some time before Christ mas, but nothing has been decided upon definitely. All depends upon the number of girls that turn out. The The Glee Club will also appear in the “Lady of Shalott,” but as yet the date has not been set. All girls musically inclined are urged to turn out for Glee Club work. Miss Emma Bayer was a week end guest at the Tri Delta’s. Miss Grace Jackson spent the week en dat the Beth Rhea house. Miss Florence George will visit her sister at the Beth Reah house. Miss Juliet Cross will spend the Thanksgiving holidays with her sis ter. Miss Elizabeth Busch has a week end guest, Miss Beatrice Sinfeld, of Portland. lhe Gamma Phi Betas will enter tain Miss Jennie Perry during Thanks giving recess. The Alpha Tau Omegas have issued invitations for a dance during Thanks giving vacation. Miss Gertrude Buell, of San Jose, will spend the coming week at the Tri Delta house. Mrs. J. P. Ven Orsdal spent the week end with her daughter, Pauline, at the Tri Delta house. The Delta Sigmas had as dinner guests Saturday evening, Mr. Irish, Mr. Spencer and Mr. Ruth. The majority of the fraternity houses are planning informal affairs for the Thanksgiving holidays. The Tri Deltas will entertain with a dancing party Friday, December 8, in honor of the Phi Gamma Deltas. Many of the sorority girls are plan ning to go to Salem Friday to attend the dance given by Miss Sophie Cat lin. The Avavas will have as week end guests, Jack and Oswald Day, mem bers of the Jefferson High School : football team. The Tri Deltas celebrated Found er’s Day Tuesday, November 23rd, with an elaborate banquet held in the Wistaria room of the Hotel Osburn. Mrs. J. H. Gilbert acted as toastmis tress. KOYL WILL DISPENSE SPEARMINT TO “KIDDOS” The Y. M. C. A. has branched out into a new commercial undertaking. The bookstore has laid in a stock of Hershey’s chocolates, and Spearmint chewing gum. The enterprising secretary has de cided that by this method he can raise the money with which to pay for a typewriter; and thus save the asso ciation the expense of renting a ma chine. Koyle is now asking all of his friends “to have one on him.” SENIORS WILL HAVE MEETING TUESDAY, DECEMBER 5 Bob Kellog has called a meeting of the Senior Class for Tuesday, Decem ber 5. In this meeting the class will endeavor to select their Senior play. The cast will not be decided upon yet, as the play will not be given until early spring. Ed Himes has charge of obtaining the coach. Class pins may also be discussed at this meeting. Mrs. Emma Dorris Hardy, ’89, is at the home on the River Road, near Eugene. Wallace Mount. ’83, father of “Ben nie” Mount, ’13, is on the Washington Supreme Court bench. Fletcher Min, ’90, is a prominent business man of Portland, being presi dent of Oregon State Manufacturer’s Association. K. K. Kubli, ’93, manager of the Killiam Stationery Co., Portland, is a prominent Elk of that city, having been instrumental in securing the Elks convention for Portland in 1912.
