The Kev. Allen Ingcbritsen performed the double ring cere- mony on Friday, Dec. 27, at 6 o'clock in the evening in the presence of 40 friends and rela tives of the couple. The program opened with the installation of the 1964 officers: Mrs. Elmer (Irene) Reese, president; Jim Romine, vice president; and Mrs. Harry (Dorothy) Turnbull, secretary treasurer. The highlight of the evening was the announcement t ha t James V. Romine had i been! chosen "Citizen of the Year." Bill Strader, retiring president, presented the honoree with a gold loving cup. Following the ceremony card party was held to which the public had been invited. A large . crowd attended including GREETED WITH LEIS as they arrived in Honolulu, Hawaii, was a group." of vacationers from Oregon. They included Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Howard' of ' Roseburg, couple at right in the back row. Others pictured in back row, from left, include Arnie. Swarens of Bend;, Mrs. O. L, Murray Jr., of Portland; and Oscar Murray, Bend. Mrs. Oscar Murray, a former Roseburg resident, is the daughter of Mrs. Paul Shanklin of this city. Derry Moore is Mrs. Shanklin's granddaughter.: the group left Portland via Northwest Air lines Jet Dec. 26 and returned home Jan. 10. --,.' - 1 by her father, was lovely in her white floor length gown, which featured a tiered skirt and a fingertip jacket with rhinestones on the collar and sleeve tips, and which was buttoned up the front. Her waist length veil was held with a circular crown of pearls and her flowers were red roses v ith peppermint car nations. Miss Coleen Thompson, sis ter of the bride, from Palermo, N.D., was maid of honor Bridesmaids were Mrs. Greg Jenkins, also the bride's, sis ter, and Mrs. Dave Peterson of Woodland, Wash. They wore green taffeta dresses featuring an empire waist and white ac cessories. Their corsages were of white roses The bridegroom's attendants included Tom Alameda, best man; Dee Wayne Mattox, broth er of the bride, and Larry Niel sen, brother of the bridegroom, as ushers The bride's mother wore an off white gown with red cran berry accessories. The bride groom's mother wore a blue brocade gown with dark acces sories. Their corsagos were of peppermint striped carnations. A reception was held in the church basement's social room. A beautiful wedding cake dec orated in white with red roses was served with punch und cof fee. Miss Vicky Chander cut1 the wedding cake. Mrs. Eddio Nichols poured punch and Mrs. Gus Shaufcr served coffeo. Mrs. Frank Hcrriges and daughter, Dorothy, and Miss Julio Mor bcrg arranged the gifts. Mrs, Ben Melton presented the guest book The couple graduated from Glide High School. The bride is employed -at Pay Less Drug Store and tha bridegroom ' is employed , at ' Roseburg Motor Co. For their honeymoon trip the bride chose a threo piece suit. They are now' residing at 1415 N.W. Fairmount Ave. In Roseburg, OES Meeting Honors Oakland Master Masons The officers and members ofof the pay of representatives Oakland Chapter OES No. 91, honored the Master Masons at a polluck dinner preceding the regular meeting Thursday night. The dining room was cleverly decorated in the winter, motif by Ella Sparks, Nancy Schulze, Vede Hollopeter and Pat Gilder-! sleeve, who were in charge, of the dinner and refreshments aft er the meeting. The meeting was presided over by worthy matron, Vera Smith, and worthy patron, Har ry Smith. The hall was beautifully dec orated by Dorothy Fox and Vcl ma Bratton. Katheryn Roadman, chairman commission; Mary Barker,! grand representative to Massa chusetts in Oregon, and T ed Roadman, junior grand stew ard of Masons, were escorted and introduced. This meeting was attended by a group of 35 members of the Masonic Lodge who were es corted, introduced and present ed a gift. Logan White, a very talent ed toastmaster, gave a clever and enlightening talk on the subject "Are Women Really Necessary. After, the meeting, cake and coffee was served in the din ing room. if? ....
