Vacation For Style Swaying palm fronds pointed up the vacation theme for the fashion show held at the Rose burg Country Club Thursday. A large number of members of the Women of the Country Club and their guests viewed excit ing new vacation outfits worn by IS lovely models. ine lasnion show was given following a noon luncheon. The show preceded contract bridge play. Mrs. Paul Hult was chair man of the affair. Her commit tee included Mrs. L. L. Burr, Mrs. Albert McEee, Mrs. Ralph DeMoisy, Mrs. Frank Dixon, Mrs. William Pritehett, Mrs. Kenneth Kirk, Mrs. T. C. Fitz gerald and Mrs. Dan Dimick. Mrs. Al May was publicity chairman. Bui-nice Allen Stinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Stinson of Nashville, Tenn., were married Dec. 3 at the Grants Pass court house, with Justice of the Peace Rafferty officiating. Witnesses included the bride's mother, Mrs. L. M Shepherd. The bride wore a simple green and white ensemble for the singlt-rins ceremony. She was graduated from the Glendale High School. Gifts were placed under an um brella on which were sugges tions for thin?' for the bride to do. The centerpiece was an ar rangement of poinsettias on a lace centerpiece. Games were played with Lau ra Webber winning high score and Phyllis Shaver receiving the consolation prize. Miss Coul ter was assisted by Diane Da vidson in opening her many lovely gifts.' The Rev. Richard Rohrbaugh performed the impressive double ring cer emony. The bride' is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Jordan, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. D. 0. Fisher, all of Riddle. The church was beautifully adorned with decorations appro priate for the. Christinas season. The bride wore a white bro cade dress with jacket, a white hat with short veil, and carried a white Bible topped with white carnations. Her bridesmaid was Darlenc Picklesimer, wearing a blue suit with white carnation corsage. Art Fisher, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, Alice Walker played the wed ding music. Following the ceremony a re ception was held at the home of the bridegroom s parents. The three-tiered wedding cake with miniature bride ami bride groom, was served hy Sandec Craig and Kathy Robbins, while Darlrne Picklesimer served the punch and coffee. The mother of the bride wore a beige silk afternoon dress with black accessories. The bride groom's mother wore a beige suit with harmonizing accessor ies. . . Both the bride and bridegroom are graduates of Riddle High School. The bride was gradual ed Dec. 1. from the Eugene Business School. The bride groom is a sophomore at East crn Oregon College. The couple will live in La Grande where the bridegroom has resumed col lege classes and the bride is employed as office secretary at the college. Lodge Holds Initiation Mrs. A. B. Whites Honorec Mr. and Mrs. Clifford White of Winston were pleasantly sur prised at a dinner at the Piano Roll Inn by a group of friends and relatives in observance of their 25th wedding anniversary which occurred on Jan. 1. Host esses for the charming affair were Mrs. Leo Manske and Mrs. Leslie Musick. A pink carnation corsage was presented to Mrs. White by Mrs Manske. Following the delightful 'din ner, the party was continued at the home of the honored couple. where the beautifully decorated cake trimmed with pink roses and white wedding bells edged with silver and the numerals 25 centering the cake was served with coffee by the host esses. The Whites were married Jan 1, 1939, in Steamboat Springs Colo, moving to Winston the fol lowing yciir. Thoy have three children, Floyd, who is married and has i two daughters; and Linda and Roy, who aro still at home and attending Douglas High School. The Robert Diltz family also visited for one day with the Larry Diltz fam ily in Glendale. E. E. Condrey, a member of the Glendale Eastern Star for the past 50 years and now living in Truth or Consequences, N.M., was honored at a recent meet' ing of the Chapter, and his 50 year pin was sent to him. An addendum was presented by officers of the chapter, and this was followed by group sing ing. After the meeting, Mrs. Jua nita Clare, Mrs. Violet Kim brough, Mrs. Harold Coolcy and Mrs. Walt McAllister served re freshments.
