The Wildcats broke Into an
early lead, capitalizing on a
pair of first quarter Vik bob
bles, then came on strong in
the second half to outclass the
visitors. .
Recovering a Myrtle Creek
fumble on the first play of the
game after kicking off, the!
Wildcats marched 25 yards for
the initial six points, Bob Paul
son ripped of the final one
yard to pay dirt.
Seconds later the Wildcats re
covered another Viking bobble,
this time on the Myrtle Creek
10-yard line. Two plays later
Paulson again provided the pow
er this time smashing his
way into the end zone irom
the four-yard marker.
The two teams then settled
into a defensive battle for the
remainder of the first half, with
the intermission score favoring
Glide, 12-0.
In the third quarter the Wild
cals once again capitalized on
a recovered fumble falling
on the ball on the Myrtle Creek
26. Dan Forrest rambled the
final five yards for the TD and
Paulson kicked the extra point.
Turning on the steam in the
fourth quarter, the Wildcats
added 13 points to their total.

In Saturday's battle, the Wild
cats' defense gave the Vikings
just 56 yards rushing and 65
yards passing. However, Myr
tle Creek came up with a total
of 12 first downs, while the win
ncrs had just seven. Myrtle
Creek's passing yardage came
on eight completions out of 26
attempts as the Vikings filled
the air with footballs.
