Elizabeth to a planning group of officers and executive board mem bers of the Roseburg Woman's Club. A garden tea is planned for Sept. 10 between 2:30 and 5 p.m. at the Wilson home for all members and their invited guests. The occasion is also for all friends of the club who are either newcomers to Rose' burg or who would like to learn more about the activities of the club and its various monthly pro grams. Heading the planning group is Mrs. Ruth Heiner, vice president and membership chairman. Other officers and executive board mem bers meeting to plan for the tea were Mrs. Clarson Chitwood, ex ecutive secretary; Mrs. Foy Hib bard; corresponding secretary; Mrs. Meredith Wilson, treasurer; Mrs. Lois Burton, house board chairman; Mrs. E. G. Kohlhagen, Mrs. V. W. Wallace, Mrs. J. R. An lauf, Mrs. Sig Fett, Mrs. Paul Abeel, Mrs. M. L. Fletcher, Mrs. Claude Baker and Roseburg s 86- year old "sweetheart," Mrs. B. W. Maddox, a Roseburg Woman s Club member for 62 years. Mrs. James Campbell, fine arts chairman, states that she and her committee have completed ar rangements with Max Reisinger, University of Oregon Assistant dean of music, for the 10-week mu sic series which will be presented this fall by the club. The first program Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. at the clubhouse will feature Dr. Robert Hladky, associate professor of cel lo at the university. Other committee members are Mrs. Kenneth Ford, Miss Helen Casey, Mrs. Clyde Carstens and Mrs. Herman Bauer. They will be co-hostesses at the Sept. 10 garden tea and expect to have the pro gram calendar for the music se ries available at the tea. Mrs. T. W. Goodwin, club presi dent, plans to announce some of the regular monthly programs at the tea. In conjunction with her talk, she will show slides which she took on her recent trip. The slides are new and this will be their first public showing. Barbecue Picnic Held At Coles' A barbecue picnic was held re ccntly at the Harold Cole home on Coles Road in Oakland, the oc casion being the arrival of T. Sgt, and Mrs. Joe Fraer and family, recently of Adana, Turkey. Sgt. Fraer was stationed in Tur key with his family for two years and their sons, Bruce and Joe San dy went to school there. Those present were Mrs. Cole, Mrs. Dorothy Bonine and children. Sodie, Bob, Carrie and Eldon, all of Springfield; and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Millott of Oakland. The Fraers were house guests of the Coles for a week.
