Olalla Squares, Olalla Communi ty Building, 9 p.m. Oakland Resident Ends Mexico Stay By EDITH DUNN Mrs. Dorothy Todd of Oakland has returned from Mexico City where she attended the University of Americano for six weeks. She made her home with a Mexican family while there. While in Mexico Mrs. Todd made several sightseeing trips including the pyramids, shrine of Guada loupe and other points of interest. She made the trip south by plane both ways. She will teach in the Roseburg school district tins year. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Winegar and daughters, Judy and Marilyn, of Canoga Park, Calif., spent sev eral days recently visiting Mrs. Melvin Martin Sr. Accompanied by Mrs. Martin they drove to Hood River to see Mr. Martin who is employed there this summer. Mrs. Winegar and Mrs. Martin are sis ters. A sightseeing trip in Wash ington was made by the group. Pfc. Guy W. Martin of Ft. Riley Kan., recently spent 17 days visit ing his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mel vin Martin Sr., and with other relatives and friends. Guy had re cently returned from a six-month tour of duty with the army in Germany. SAFETY RULES BROKEN WASHINGTON (UPI) Inter ior Secretary Stewart L. Udall savs the mine accidents at Hazle- ton, Pa., and Mo'ab, Utah, have underscored the laxness of mine safety practices in some seg ments" of the industry.
