Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Adams of this city enjoyed the weekend at Vancouver and Victoria, B.C.' I. J. Bean, who is working out of Olympia, Wash., spent the week end at his home here. Mr. and Mrs. John Blanchard and son, John, of Sweet Home, spent Monday in Roseburg as guests of Mrs. Blanchard's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Roberts. ' Miss Cathy and Miss Sheila Grif fith left todav for their home in 3m? Portland, following the last 10 days here visiting their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. George Foster, on NE Nash St. Mr. and Mrs. Earl T. Cone Jr.' and family moved Monday from 2026 NW Kline St. to S. E. Reser voir Ave., where thoy have pur chased the former residence of Mr. and Mrs. Al Ehrensing. Mrs. Laura Goodoll, Mrs. Evelyn Powell, Mrs. Adeline Creason and Mrs. .Hazel Abbott of Tri City as sisted with the American Legion Auxiliary dance sponsored at the VA Hospital Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Hatfield and children Philip, Kelli and Joan of Seattle have arrived in Roseburg to spend the remainder of the week visiting the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry F. Hatfield. Arlon Gilliland, who is stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Wash., is on leave until Sept. 6 and is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Gilliland, on W. Hazel St. Mrs. Lorene Dyer left this week for her home in Burbank, Calif., following a week here visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lar ka, and her brother-in-law and sis ter, Mr. and Mrs. Albert McBee, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Feigum and son, Dick, have moved from 1533 NE Vine St. to 1023 NE Barager Rd. They bought the Chris Warness home and Mr. and Mrs. Warness and daughter have moved to Port land; where Mr., Warness has ac cepted a teaching position. Mrs. M. Gilbert Wood of this city has taken her nephew, Mike Hash, back to his home in Colo ;:ulo Springs, Colo., and is spend ir,' two or three weeks visiting re atives there. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Clayton of Umpqua came to Roseburg Sun day to bring back their five grandchildren, David, Mike, Phil, Dickie and Cindy Bean, and their ' friends, Tom Hill and Kevin Bab bitt, who had spent the weekend at the Clayton ranch enjoying an out ing. Phil Meagher is leaving Sept. 3 for Portland to spend four months in a training program, before be ing transferred from Roseburg to Eugene as Group Life representa tive for Standard Life Insurance Co. of Oregon. His wife and six chil dren, Cathy, Pam, Neil, Colleen, Joan and Peggy, will remain in Roseburg until Christmas before moving to Eugene. Mr. and Mrs. Al Ehrensing and sons, Dwight, Keith, Daryl and Greg, moved Monday from SE Res ervoir Ave. to their newly pur chased home on SE Overlook Ave. They purchased the residence of Mrs. R. D. Coen. Mrs. Coen is moving to Eugene, and prior to leaving she is staying here with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Coen. Mrs. Milton Schweppe returned to her work with the U. S. Forest Service this week after being ill the last week. Mr. Schweppe took her to McMinnville during the week for medical attention. Mr. Schweppe attended to business in Brookings and Port Orford, attend ed the Coos County Fair during the week and Sunday visited in Eu gene with his two brothers, Melvin and Wayne Schweppe. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Johnson have returned from an extended trip into Idaho over the newly opened Lolo Pass. They went on up to Missoula. Mont., and Lake New man, where they stayed for a week. From there they visited their daughter, Mrs. Jay Stokes, and family, at Okanogan, Wash., and on to Eltopia, Wash., where they visited Mrs. Johnson's sister, Mrs. Mary Batie.
