(UPI Telephoto) Dodgers Win Crucial Game; Yanks Bury Senators By United Press International Chalk up two mure strikeout records for Los Angeles fireball er Sandy Koufax today. Koufax struck out 11 batters in the Dodgers' 31, U-inning tri umph over the Chicago Cubs Wednesday. Koufax 11-strikeouts lifted his season total to 210 in 213 innings and made him the first National League left-hander to record three consecutive 200 - strikeout seasons. It also was a league record 48th time in which he has struck out 10 or more batters in a game. Koufax turned over a tie game to relief ace Ron I'erranoski and the latter gained his 11th win of the season when the Dodgers came up with two runs in the 11th inning on Tommy Davis' homer, singles by Willie Davis and Al Ferrera and an error by Ellis Burton. The victory enabled the Dodg ers to increase their NL lead to six games when the Houston Colts topped the San Francisco Giants, 1-0, and the New York Mets sur prised the St. Louis Cardinals, 7-3. The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Cincinnati Reds, 2-1, and the Pittsburgh Pirates shaded the Milwaukee Braves, 5-4, in other NL action. Dick Farrell went 8 1-3 innings and Hal Woodeshick threw a game-ending double play ball to pinch hitter Harvey Kuenn to give the ninth-place Colts their fifth win in their last six home games with the Giants. The Colts scored the game's only run off Brundage To Miss U0 Grid Season EUGENE (UPI) Mike Brund age, former all-state quarterback from Roseburg, will not be play ing football this fall for the Uni versity of Oregon. The sophomore quarterback told head coach Len Casanova Wed nesday that he plans to enter the service this fall. He will enlist in the U.S. Army's six-month pro gram and v.ill return to school for the spring quarter and spring football practice. Brundage was starting quarter back on the Duck's frosh team two vears sen. He was redshirted I last year and did not play. The Chicago White Sox defeat ed the Kansas City Athletics, 7-3, The Cleveland Indians beat the Baltimore Orioles, 4-1, the De troit Tigers nipped the Boston Red Sox, 5-4, and the Minnesota Twins whipped Los Angeles, 9-4, in other AL games. Junior Golf Action Slated The Stewart Park Golf Associ ation will sponsor a junior golf tournament Aug. 16-18 at the Mu nicipal Golf Course. Boys between the ages of 10 and 17 will be eligible to compete for the championship. Officials are anticipating 40 entrants which would provide for eight flights. Trophies and prizes will be pre sented the winners in each flight. Lntry fee for the tournament will be SI, and boys can register at the Stewart Park pro shop ac cording to Gerry Hennebeck, pres ident of the association. This will be the first junior golf tournament sponsored by the Stew art Park Association, and it is hoped to make the tourney an annual event.
