Students Conduct Glide Promotion The promotional exercises for eighth grade students of Glide tip per momentary School were held the evening of June 4 in the grade school multipurpose room. The student council planned and conducted the entire program. Ken Taylor, first semester student body president, gave the opening ad dress. Roberta Diimoni, member m ine siiiucm council, presented the awards of the State Science Fair held In Portland at which Janet Price and Susan Connlne won first place trophies and Duanc Amann a third place certificate. David Kennaday, second semcsler student body president, gave the closing address. There was no mu sical program. Krank Moore of the Glide School Board presented diplomas to the 47 graduates. C'lvln Chrislensen, principal of Glide Junior High, stated that 26 eighth grade students were promo ted from Deer Creek Grade School and five from Tokctee grade school, all to attend Glide High next year and will make a total of 78 students in the freshman class. He also remarked that only 40 seniors were graduated this year. The seventh and eighth grade students held a farewell picnic at the school the day following the promotional exercises.
