SHIRLENE BRAZIE'S FOOD FOR THOUGHT I? tt.S?.! l atin America starts in Mexico and works its way south ... so does the amount of spires used in conking in the different localities. The .Mexican school of cooking isi aoom ine Hottest in the world. The amount of spiers used gradually thins out in the different countries until we get to the Argentine, where most dishes are almost as placid as a New England boiled dinner . . , In between, you will find a de gree of spicincss to please all tastes. Actually it Is Indian cook ing overpowered by that of the con querors who were mainlv, but not entirely, the Spanish. In s o me places, the Indian recipes were pushed out entirely, and the cook ing shows it. In others, like Equa dor, the newcomers, even after five hundred years, have little more than "a fool in the kitchen door" . . , (More next week) , , .
