Cow Creek Association Set To Have Community Booth The Cow Creek Valley Develop- ir tmrk .v.,ilaw ..!. at its rerent ilenda e II i e h 1 . -i i i er a i.itnaaie- display booth at the Douxlas Coun ty Fair. The association entered an exhib it 111 competition with five other communities last fall and placed third, winning a prize of $200. It was reported that the top prize this year will be $500 instead of $1000 as last year. There was a report on the recent Water Resources meeting held at ltoseburg to the effect that a re quest is being made by the Doug las County Water Resources Board budget committee for a sum of S20, 000 for the purpose of making stud ies of possible dam sites in the county. District Discussed Much of the meeting time was used in the discussion of the pro posed Rural Fire District. Plans for the district include the levying of a 6 mill tax on property within the district's boundaries. The tax, three fifths of which would be on in dustrial property, would raise an estimated S7.5O0 for the purchase of necessary equipment and main tenance for the first year. With the equipment on hand, it is expect ed that the millagc costs could be cut considerably for the following year. Equipment to be purchased would include a used Class A pump- Spokane Relative Visits In Drain By JO CARLILE Veda Bell of Spokane.
